Landscape Painting Class - Brevard Art Museum

This three day workshop is designed for an artist at any level of skill and experience who would like to focus on landscape painting. We will cover the basics of composition, values, edges and color. An emphasis will be placed on color mixing from the 3 primary colors. Demonstrations will help to explain the basics of landscape painting, including how to turn a photograph into a painting, and not just a copy.
This will be a prelude to a Plein Air workshop in which we will apply the principles learned painting inside to the challenges of outdoor painting. Three-day Plein Air Workshop
November 1-3, 2010 This 3 day workshop will focus on painting marshes, the ocean, and skies. November is the perfect time to go to the shore to study the anatomy of waves and clouds.We will study how the sky reflects into the ocean and how that effects the mood of the painting. Moving to a marsh setting will allow study of the same principles with still water.
